I can't believe I've never been here before this past week.  I wanted to meet my friend at Papa's and Beer but she suggested meeting here instead and I'm glad we did.  As much as I love Papa's, this was so much more quiet and chill.  When we arrived at 6pm on a Friday evening, there was no wait and we were the only table outside (only three tables outside but still...).

Upon arrival and throughout our entire dining experience, staff was on point, they were friendly and accommodating.  I appreciated that food came out quickly but not too quickly, like I could tell it had been freshly prepared and was nice and hot when it came out.

Of course we began our meal with the complimentary chips and bean dip.  The salsa bar is inside and we helped ourselves to a variety of different salsas of different flavors and spice levels.  Although I didn't really especially love any of the salsas, the bean dip was great and the chips were crunchy and the perfect amount of salty.

I was craving a burrito and so I ordered a veggie burrito (I can't remember the name on the menu) and added shrimp and subbed red sauce.  They were super happy to do so and when it came out, it was huge and delicious.  I've never had such a fresh tasting burrito in Asheville.  The vegetables were plentiful and tasted delicious and like great summer veggies.  The shrimp was cooked perfect and the sauce and cheese on top were not too heavy.  This was a huge burrito and was served with rice, sour cream and lettuce.

I'll definitely be back here again when the craving strikes!

Delicious food, huge portions, reasonable prices, and great service! They also have a small outdoor seating area.

We stopped here on a whim with 4 kids under the age of 5. This is definitely not the standard Mexican fare. They start you out with unlimited chips and bean dip. They also have a salsa bar with tons of options. I ordered the mole burrito. Basically I order anything with mole because I am a creature of habit when it comes to Mexican. My husband ordered another steak dish and was happy. My burrito came out and it was quite possibly the biggest burrito that I have ever seen. The mole sauce was spicy and very unique. I could only eat a quarter of the burrito, but it was fantastic!!! The adults in our group were happy. Now I'm not giving this a five star based on atomosphere or exquisite cuisine. Our bill was only 13 dollars for two entrees and the Mexican food was way better than any Mexican restaurant I've been to in awhile. So if you are looking for a casual, cheap Mexican restaurant to fill your belly than definitely get a burrito here!!!!

We drove from Atlanta, Ga for my wife's and stayed at a Yurt in the mountains of Asheville NC (which is amazing) we always find the nearest Mexican Restaurant and stopped at Mamas and Beers. Our waiter was Sal who was amazing. I got the steak and shrimp Fajitas and My wife got the shrimp chimichanga we BOTH orders the top shelf margarita which were ALL delicious!!! Whenever we come back to Asheville NC we will always come back to Mamas and Beer!!! You gotta try it!!!

I've never seen a menu so big and with such variety in a Mexican restaurant.  I chose fish tacos which were delicious and my husband had tamales which were also good.  The food came to our table quickly and service was excellent.  We watched the tableside guacamole being made and saw fajitas delivered which looked amazing.  We know what we will get next time!  This is definitely our go to Mexican restaurant.
